RN Registered Nurse ICU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the ICU provides clinical expertise to ensure critically ill patients receive high-quality, efficient care in a high-acuity environment. The nurse assesses, plans, intervenes in, and evaluates patient care; instructs patients and families about medications and treatment; maintains and reviews patient records, including test and examination results; and administers medications according to physician orders. The role offers opportunities to contribute to patient-care decisions through collaborative relationships with managers, hospital councils, and nursing initiatives.
Requirements
- Florida Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations, or appropriate compact licensure. If holding a compact license, an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- PC skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate the care of critically ill patients.
