About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN-CN 1) works nights in the Burn/ENT Special Care Unit (BESCU), a 10-bed inpatient ICU with variable acuity. The unit provides specialized care to older adolescent and adult patients with acute burn injuries, complex wounds, and skin conditions requiring advanced treatment and reconstruction. It also cares for patients undergoing major head and neck cancer surgery and reconstructive procedures, including free-flap reconstruction, as well as patients with newly created surgical airways and other complex airway or ENT needs. The RN uses nursing knowledge and clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate culturally based, age-specific patient care. The nurse collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, documents care in accordance with hospital policies, and contributes to the development of colleagues. The position requires a current Ohio RN license and graduation from an accredited school of nursing; an associate degree is the minimum education requirement, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
