About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Registered Nurses (RN) for its Specialty Medical Nursing Units. This role is suitable for experienced nurses, student nurses, and recent graduate nurses. The position offers a supportive environment that promotes professional and interpersonal development and growth. Graduate Registered Nurses will receive clinical instruction and additional learning opportunities through the Nurse Residency program. Hartford Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, is a large and respected teaching hospital at the forefront of technology and medical care, featuring state-of-the-art institutes and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI). The Specialty Medicine Units foster a collaborative work environment where nurses care for diverse patients with acute conditions, working as a team to deliver holistic care. Requirements

  • Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role).
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

  • Experienced nurses, student nurses and recent graduate nurses welcome and encouraged to apply.
  • No floating outside of the Medicine Division.
  • Nursing students can be offered a position, but start is contingent upon attainment of a CT RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Care for a wide variety of patients with acute care conditions.
  • Deliver holistic care to patients and their families.
  • Develop critical thinking skills, delegation, and time management.
  • Practice at the top of their license using research, innovation and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in clinical instruction and learning opportunities as part of the Nurse Residency program (for Graduate RNs).
