About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible and accountable for providing comprehensive direct nursing care to patients from admission through discharge. The nurse reviews and documents care provided, patient outcomes, and evaluations of care, and follows professional standards of care. This is a part-time position with a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. schedule.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kentucky.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within three years of hire.
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within two years of hire.
• Complete mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training before the end of the orientation period and maintain it annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive direct nursing care to patients from admission through discharge.
• Review and document care provided, outcomes of care, and evaluations of care.
• Follow professional standards of care.
