About The Position

The Indiana Poison Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a highly specialized team dedicated to providing poison information, toxicology consultation, and treatment recommendations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This unique nursing role combines critical thinking, patient assessment, education, and evidence-based practice to assist healthcare providers and the public in managing poison exposures and toxicological emergencies. Working in the Poison Center offers an opportunity to utilize and expand your clinical knowledge across a wide range of patient populations and toxicology-related presentations. Nurses receive extensive orientation and ongoing education in poison management, toxicology principles, communication techniques, and clinical consultation.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Current State of Indiana Registered Nurse license
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may apply for candidates with >2 years acute care experience, subject to CNO approval)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Critical care, emergency department, pediatrics, or related experience
