About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a self-motivated individual to join the Poison Center team as a Pharmacist Program Coordinator. This full-time, benefits-eligible exempt position is located at the East Campus Corp Pavilion in Omaha, NE. The role involves leading the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services, including the creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plans, cost-effective therapeutic drug monitoring, drug utilization, guideline development, and drug use evaluation. The coordinator will also provide training and educational support for professional staff, disseminate new knowledge and outcomes information related to medication use, and lead efforts to educate other disciplines on appropriate drug therapy use. Requirements

Minimum of five years clinical practice experience in the clinical specialty or an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year two residency in the specialty required.
Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
Demonstrate excellence in clinical areas as displayed by ability to consistently and completely meet and contribute to updating standards of practice required.
Demonstrate excellence in training undergraduate students, residents, and pharmacists as evidenced by student/trainee evaluations required.
Maturity and leadership skills required.
Licensed in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted upon start or transfer required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one or year two residency as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services including creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plan, cost-effective therapeutic drug monitoring, drug utilization, guideline development, and drug use evaluation in assigned clinical teams.
Provide training and educational support for development of clinical skills in professional staff.
Responsible for dissemination of new knowledge, utilization trends and outcomes information related to medication use/pharmaceutical care programs at the organization.
Lead efforts to educate other disciplines regarding appropriate use of drug therapy.
