29200 - General Adult Psychiatry - Registered Nurse 1 or 2, Inpatient
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on a 22-bed adult psychiatry unit that admits individuals aged 18-60 requiring intensive psychiatric stabilization. This includes individuals with new or recent onset of psychosis, major depressive episodes, acutely suicidal individuals, and those without an established diagnosis or treatment history. The role requires strong interpersonal, assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. Requirements
- Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Active New York State RN license in good standing.
- Level I Applicants will have less than 6-12 months of RN experience.
- Level II Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience.
- Strong interpersonal, assessment, critical thinking and communication skills are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience.
- Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
- Assumes the charge nurse role.
- Actively participates in unit/service activities.
- Supports co-workers.
- Assesses unit needs.
