About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the hospital’s Main Operating Room in Kerrville, Texas. Call is required. The RN serves as a patient advocate throughout the perioperative period, helping protect patients from injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments. The nurse coordinates care among providers and hospital staff, supports patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon, and accurately and completely documents care, interventions, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic computer keyboard skills.
- Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Meditech proficiency.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
- One or more years of circulating experience in a hospital Operating Room.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for patients during the perioperative period.
- Implement a plan to protect patients from injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments.
- Coordinate patient care between providers and hospital staff.
- Support patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon.
- Accurately and completely document care provided, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
