About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the hospital’s Main Operating Room in Kerrville, Texas. The position requires call. The RN serves as a patient advocate throughout the perioperative period, coordinates care between providers and hospital staff, supports patients’ physical and emotional needs, and assists the surgeon. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic computer keyboard skills.
- Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Meditech proficiency.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
- One or more years of circulating experience in a hospital Operating Room.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for patients during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments.
- Coordinate patient care between providers and hospital staff.
- Support patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon.
- Accurately and completely document care provided, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
