About The Position

Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse in the hospital’s Main Operating Room in Kerrville, Texas. The role requires call. The RN advocates for patients throughout the perioperative period, coordinates care between providers and hospital staff, supports patients’ physical and emotional needs, and assists the surgeon. The RN documents care accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic computer keyboard skills.
• Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Meditech proficiency.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
• One or more years of circulating experience in a hospital Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Act as a patient advocate during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect patients from injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments.
• Coordinate patient care between providers and hospital staff.
• Support patients’ physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon.
• Document care accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
