About The Position

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The unit serves adult patients ages 18 and older and has 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds. The patient population includes neurological and cardiac conditions, MI, trauma, respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiovascular step-down patients, and postoperative care. Chronic ventilator patients may be cared for on the unit, with respiratory therapy assisting patients who are unable to wean.

The position offers 36- or 48-hour-per-week contract options and a day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating is required. Navy blue scrubs are specified. Local candidates residing less than 75 miles from the facility are accepted and subject to local rates.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• EPIC EMR experience and proficiency.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Active New York RN license.
• Provide a current NURSYS license verification report covering all RN licenses.
• Provide an updated resume documenting IMCU/PCU and travel nursing experience.
• Provide a specialty-specific skills checklist.
• Provide a driver’s license with an address matching candidate demographics.
• Disclose requested time off at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult patients in the Intermediate Care Unit.
• Float as required.
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, metabolic, infectious, step-down, and postoperative conditions.
