About The Position

The Staff Nurse delivers safe and compassionate nursing care to patients across all populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating each patient’s plan of care. The nurse collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other clinical team members to support optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care. This position is on the Ortho/Spine unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital and works 36 hours per week on a night schedule, 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Requirements

Associate degree or higher in Nursing. If an Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, the nurse must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of the position start date; this requirement is effective September 1, 2021.
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Knowledge of EKG interpretation.
NIHSS Stroke Scale certification.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
Surgical care experience, including orthopedic and general-surgery experience.
ACLS certification.
One year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred.
