About The Position

The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or a similar clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of relevant aspects of the situation. Provides routine and complex care and can work toward long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN license in the state of employment or a compact RN license.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with the nurse's level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to the appropriate protocol, and monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed.
