Registered Nurse (7am - 7:30pm)
About The Position
Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the day shift, working 36 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. The hospital is located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, in Montgomery County. The position offers competitive pay, shift differentials, overtime opportunities, and the option to cover other shifts. Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital is a 146-bed psychiatric facility serving the Philadelphia area. It provides individualized programming for adolescents and adults receiving treatment for mental illness. The Registered Nurse delivers and coordinates patient care in collaboration with other health team members, following the nursing process and applicable standards of care. The role also includes supervisory responsibilities for Mental Health Technicians. Nurses use communication, interviewing, problem-solving, and crisis-intervention techniques in psychotherapeutic interventions; administer medications; assess patients and develop care plans; and educate patients and significant others based on identified needs and limitations.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program.
- Current Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing license to practice.
- Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities
- Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and evaluate patient care collaboratively with health team members, following the nursing process and standards of care and practice.
- Supervise Mental Health Technicians.
- Use communication, interviewing, problem-solving, and crisis-intervention techniques when performing psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Administer medications accurately to patients.
- Prioritize and formulate a plan of care based on an integrated assessment and according to policy.
- Educate patients and significant others according to identified needs and limitations, including communication, interpersonal and social skills, and basic physical health principles.
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and patient interviews according to policy.
