About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Surgical 6th Floor unit, a 37-bed medical-surgical unit. The role provides high-quality patient care in a challenging and dynamic environment, caring for patients with trauma, oncology, and general medical-surgical diagnoses. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights. The position is a night shift with 12-hour shifts and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Weekend work is required: six weekend shifts per six-week schedule. Holiday work is also required. Self-scheduling is available, block scheduling can be accommodated, and floating may be required based on departmental needs. Comprehensive orientation is provided and scheduled during the first week of employment. The unit uses centrally monitored Philips telemetry, and nurses may care for patients with moderate oxygen needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Competency in reading telemetry strips.
• Familiarity with acute care nursing practices.

Responsibilities
