About The Position

Fairmount Behavioral Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its psychiatric and behavioral health facility in Philadelphia. The hospital serves children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and behavioral conditions and alcohol and drug dependency needs, including co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. Its campus is located in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, bordering Fairmount Park.

The Registered Nurse supervises professional and support nursing staff delivering care on a designated unit. The nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates care using the nursing process, integrating it with the multidisciplinary treatment team's plan of care. Care must align with Fairmount Behavioral Health System's philosophy and objectives, ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and Pennsylvania nursing regulations. The nurse is accountable for nursing care activities during a shift and promotes and enhances professional nursing practice on the unit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure and registration as a registered nurse by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
• Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior management, and crisis management.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• One year of prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Prior experience working with a specific psychiatric patient population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remain accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis.
• Promote and enhance professional nursing practice on the unit.
