About The Position

This is a 75% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Venous Access Team (VAT). The role involves assessment, insertion, and maintenance of Dobhoff tubes and various venous access devices, including difficult peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) for all age groups. The position also includes providing consultative services and education to nursing and medical staff, participating in the development and implementation of educational initiatives, policies, and procedures, and maintaining collaborative relationships with multiple disciplines. The position covers University Hospital and American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
