About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Venous Access Team (VAT) as a highly specialized nursing professional. This role focuses on the assessment, insertion, and maintenance of Dobhoff tubes and venous access devices for all age groups, including difficult to start peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC). The position also involves providing consultative services and education to nursing and medical staff, participating in the development, maintenance, and implementation of educational initiatives, policies, and procedures. The role requires maintaining a collaborative relationship with multiple disciplines and team members who excel at interpersonal communication, prioritizing, leadership, strategic planning, critical thinking, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
