About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is a Regular Part Time role located at Sarcee, RCTP BW, with a FTE of 0.40. The RN is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team responsible for comprehensive client assessments, developing and implementing care plans that address physical and psycho-social needs. The role involves monitoring client care and condition for optimum functioning, assuming professional accountability for complex/unstable clients, administering prescribed medications, supervising unregulated staff in medication delivery, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse will also teach, counsel, and advocate to enhance client and family well-being, focusing on direct care. Key nursing practice domains include clinical practice, administration, education, and research. The role involves performing restricted activities and providing care aligned with the client population and service delivery system. The position requires adherence to ethical and professional standards, including the CNA Code of Ethics and CARNA's standards, as well as Carewest's policies. Leadership is critical for success in this role, and other related duties may be assigned. The Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP) is a short-stay restorative care program supporting medically stable adults who need assessment, recuperation, and therapy before returning to the community.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program
  • Current and active registration with CARNA required
  • Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required

Nice To Haves

  • BScN is preferred
  • CNA Certification an asset (e.g. Gerontology, Rehabilitation, Hospice and Palliative Nursing)
  • 3 years nursing experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completing comprehensive client assessments
  • Developing and implementing client plans/care that address both physical and psycho-social care needs
