Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
  • Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
  • Two (2) years’ of current experience in ICU required
  • BCLS, ACLS required
  • Certifications for ECG, defibrillation, intravenous certification, IV medication, epidural, and pulmonary artery monitoring required
  • Critical Care Program certificate required
  • Excellent physical assessment skills required
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) essential
  • Problem solving ability and crisis intervention skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
  • As per the O.N.A. Collective Agreement, all O.N.A. members (full-time, part-time & casual) are eligible to apply for this position.
  • Cambridge Memorial Hospital requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
  • The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check, as requested by Human Resources, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation. Valid criminal record checks are in original format and dated with two months from date of conditional offer from CMH.

  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite asset

Responsibilities

  • The RN provides direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse.
  • The RN will work in collaboration with and interact with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
  • The RN demonstrates professional responsibility, and is accountable for own practice.
  • Demonstrates actions consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
  • The RN contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Other duties as per job fact sheet.
