About The Position

The Registered Nurse in ambulatory adult primary care at UVMMC Adult Primary Care Essex focuses primarily on telephone triage. The nurse manages patient calls to determine the urgency of medical issues, the level of staff or provider response required, the appropriate location for care when an in-person visit is needed, and appointment timing. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care and uses critical-thinking skills to assess patient needs and determine the right place, right time, and next step for care. The position is full-time, with 40 standard hours, on a day shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On-call duty is not required. This is a bargaining union position.
