This Registered Nurse position is located on the 3rd Floor of Atrium Health University City, specifically on the Med/Tele unit. The role is part-time (PRN) with a schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM. The nurse will engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. They will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, involving patients and families from admission to post-discharge. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The nurse will administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely, demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution, and pursue professional development. Ethical decision-making, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and integrated, unbiased patient care are expected. Appropriate delegation to other healthcare professionals and accurate, timely EHR documentation are also required. The role may involve floating to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development across the lifespan and assessing age-specific needs.
