About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates patient care on a nursing unit using the nursing process. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the RN delivers, directs, and supervises care for admitted patients. The role includes interdisciplinary and discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization, and connecting patients with community resources. Other related duties may be assigned or requested. The RN may perform Charge Nurse duties, which require current ACLS certification.
Requirements
- Hold a current registered nurse (RN) license in the state where the hospital is located, or a compact license if the state participates.
- Have current BLS certification.
- Provide evidence of ACLS certification within 90 days of employment; BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA-approved within 90 days of employment.
- Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
Nice To Haves
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
- Teach patients and families about post-hospitalization care.
- Access community resources for patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse duties when qualified.
