About The Position

The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) directs nursing service activities for the assigned hospital and helps ensure the safety of its nursing units. The role supports appropriate patient care by recommending staff-to-patient ratios, maintaining a system for adequate staffing, serving as a liaison between staff and administration, promoting staff productivity, and developing and implementing nursing service policies and procedures in compliance with PAM Health system policies and procedures and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in good standing in the state where the hospital is located.
• At least five years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years of nursing management experience preferred.
• Certification in a specified field preferred, such as CNE, CRRN, CCRN, or PCCN.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of the nursing unit(s) and hospital.
• Direct nursing service activities for the assigned hospital.
• Make recommendations regarding staff-to-patient ratios.
• Maintain a system to determine and provide adequate staff for appropriate nursing care.
• Serve as a liaison between staff and administration.
• Promote staff productivity.
• Develop and implement nursing service policies and procedures in compliance with PAM Health system policies and procedures and accreditation standards.
