About The Position

RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Registered Nurse to join our exceptional nursing team in Lancaster, Massachusetts. This position offers the unique opportunity to provide nursing support across both our educational and residential programs, serving youth and young adults in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. We are looking for an experienced nurse who is passionate about promoting health, safety, and wellness for youth in both school and residential settings. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical oversight, coordinate healthcare services, supervise medication administration programs, respond to health concerns and emergencies, and serve as a healthcare advocate for students, residents, and staff. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, educators, and direct care staff.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in child health, community health, school nursing, residential care, or other relevant clinical settings preferred.
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of medication administration programs in accordance with Massachusetts regulations and agency policies, specifically MAP programming.
  • Oversee medication plans and supervise medication administration staff.
  • Ensure safe medication practices and accurate documentation.
  • Provide consultation and guidance regarding health-related concerns and medical emergencies.
  • Coordinate primary care, specialty care, and preventive healthcare services.
  • Communicate with guardians, healthcare providers, school personnel, and residential staff regarding health needs and treatment plans.
  • Maintain student and resident health records.
  • Support ongoing health monitoring and follow-up care.
  • Conduct and oversee state-mandated health programs, including immunization surveillance and vision and hearing screenings.
  • Triage illness, injuries, and accidents and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of school health curriculum and wellness initiatives.
  • Assist in the facilitation of health education programs for students and staff.
  • Provide oversight of healthcare coordination for youth residing in residential programs.
  • Support staff in addressing routine and complex health needs.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and consultation as needed.
  • Promote health awareness and wellness among students, residents, and staff.
  • Provide education and training related to health conditions, medication administration, and emergency response.
  • Serve as a health advocate and resource within the program community.
