About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Med/Surg.TELE unit. The role involves caring for post-operative patients, particularly in orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and general surgeries. The unit has 20 beds and a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1. At full census, staffing includes five RNs and two nursing assistants. The nurse may float to other units based on staffing needs and organizational requirements. The schedule requires working every other weekend and specified holidays based on unit needs.

Requirements

• A Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• A multi-state compact RN license is required.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Every other weekend commitment is required.
• Employees are expected to work one evening of a major holiday, such as Christmas or New Year's, and one holiday during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's, based on unit needs.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a related clinical specialty is preferred.
• Experience caring for post-operative patients, particularly in orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and general surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
• Use the nursing process to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to individualize patient care.
• Direct nursing support staff in delivering patient care in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Float to other units based on staffing needs and organizational requirements.
