About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit. The role is responsible for patient assessments, planning, supervision, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle. The nurse integrates the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice. This is a full-time position at Bloomington Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving patients recovering from serious injuries and illnesses. The hospital provides individualized rehabilitation programs and works collaboratively across care teams to support patient outcomes.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and adherence to standards set by state agencies, The Joint Commission, and CMS.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and ability to use applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines in patient care.
Critical thinking skills.
General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Effective organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
Passion for patient care, strong clinical skills, and ability to collaborate with physicians and therapists.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
One year of recent experience; acute-care setting experience preferred.
ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals.
