About The Position

Pocono Mountain Recovery Center is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to provide nursing care at its residential treatment, detoxification, and outpatient facility in Henryville, Pennsylvania. The center serves adults age 18 and older who are experiencing substance use disorders and certain co-occurring mental health concerns. The role is scheduled full time on the 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shift and pays $29.50 per hour and up. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LPN/LVN license as required by the state.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of nursing experience in the clinical area of service provided by the facility.
• First aid, which may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient health and administer basic care using the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice, carrying out care-plan objectives and goals.
• Model customer-service expectations and respond with urgency to patient-safety concerns.
• Collaborate with others to address patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age-related, developmental, and cultural needs, and work to resolve complaints.
• Provide for patients’ basic comfort and implement individualized nursing interventions identified in their plans of care.
• Apply appropriate interventions to support patients’ progress toward wellness and maintenance of wellness.
• Discuss care with patients, listen to their concerns, and report status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment.
• Deliver medications safely in accordance with policies and procedures, physicians’ orders, and current practice.
• Maintain professional nursing standards in accordance with facility policies and procedures, external governing and credentialing bodies, performance-improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards.
• Accurately and thoroughly report and document patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
