Statewide Travel - Registered Nurse
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Travel Team member provides essential nursing care and clinical support at correctional healthcare facilities throughout Northern California. The position supports staffing needs across assigned sites and requires travel 100% of the time. Under the supervision of Charge Nurses, the RN supports patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; administers medications; assists with diagnostic tests and procedures; and maintains clinical documentation and safety standards. The RN participates in care planning, emergency response, and communication with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- At least three years of total nursing experience.
- At least one year of correctional nursing experience.
- Active California RN license to be considered.
- Current RN licensure in the states of practice and the state in which the employee works, or a valid compact-state nurse license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time.
- Must reside in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of clinic experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care and treatment plans under the supervision of a Charge Nurse.
- Administer medications, perform EKGs, and assist with procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Maintain accurate SOAP-format documentation and review medical records.
- Respond to emergencies and follow safety and infection-control protocols.
- Travel full-time between healthcare facilities as staffing needs require.
- Support care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
- Ensure compliance with medication-handling and clinical-documentation standards.
