About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse on the 6CD Admission Discharge Transition Unit (ADTU) at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. The unit is a dynamic Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit that plays a critical role in supporting patient flow and throughput within the hospital, including decompressing the Emergency Department by facilitating timely admissions and discharges. The team provides comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of clinical diagnoses, including acute medical conditions, post-operative recovery, and telemetry monitoring needs. The unit emphasizes comprehensive assessment, stabilization, and transition planning to ensure safe and efficient patient movement across the continuum of care.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
6 months RN experience

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills.
Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
