Detox / Psych Registered Nurse (Nights): Full-Time
About The Position
Valley Hope of Grapevine, recently voted The Best Treatment Facility in Northeast Tarrant County, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night position. Valley Hope is committed to restoring lives affected by addiction and supporting lifelong recovery through core values of Character, Compassion, and Commitment. This role offers a unique and rewarding experience, allowing nurses to provide compassionate medical care to patients undergoing residential and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Nurses work closely with patients from admission to discharge, offering hands-on support for healing and recovery in a more relaxed setting than a typical hospital. The position is located between Dallas and Fort Worth.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- One (1) year of clinical nursing care work experience.
- Previous experience in substance abuse/behavioral health environments.
Responsibilities
- Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
- Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
- Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during the detoxification process, including pre-screening patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
- Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
- Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
- Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
- Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
