Registered Nurse (RN) - Custody Unit
About The Position
Paradise Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Custody Unit. The RN delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The role includes directing and guiding patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Custody Unit. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients. The nurse communicates changes in a patient’s clinical condition to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Paradise Valley Hospital is a 291-bed acute care hospital in National City and a member of Prime Healthcare. It offers acute rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization, surgical and emergency services, and behavioral health services.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained current.
- NHISS (Stroke Scale) certification within 60 days of hire and maintained current.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Custody Unit.
- Remain accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
