Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown Unit
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Step-Down Unit in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for qualified candidates, and relocation packages are available. This is a full-time, permanent position for Weekend DAYS (7a-7p) on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday schedule. The unit is a beautiful, brand new 24-bed Medicine unit equipped with new computers, charting stations, and advanced documentation systems. The patient population includes cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care. This unit is a great stepping stone to the ICU or ED. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RN's are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Requirements
- RN Degree REQUIRED
- Virginia RN License REQUIRED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

- Prior RN experience PREFERRED
