About The Position

The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The nurse conducts intake interviews, assesses and evaluates patients, establishes plans of care, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, and works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. The nurse may also conduct therapeutic groups.

This full-time position is in the Older Adult Psychiatry department at Cox North in Springfield, Missouri. The schedule is a night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 scheduled hours per week.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated effective leadership abilities.
• Valuable time management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.
