Registered Nurse - Older Adult Psych - Full Time - Night Shift
About The Position
The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The nurse conducts intake interviews, assesses and evaluates patients, establishes plans of care, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, and works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. The nurse may also conduct therapeutic groups. This full-time position is in the Adult Psychiatry department at Cox North in Springfield, Missouri. The scheduled shift is 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 hours scheduled weekly. Qualified candidates may receive $1.00 certification pay, $1.00 BSN pay, and eligibility for a career ladder bonus of up to $5,000. Benefits are available to employees working 20 or more hours per week.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
- Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
- Obtain BLS certification within 90 days.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective leadership abilities.
- Time management skills.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Previous nursing experience.
