About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Trauma ICU provides direct, individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical environment requiring ongoing monitoring. The nurse assesses patient conditions, performs diagnostic tests, begins treatments, and assists doctors with medical procedures. The role also involves monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment and interpreting and recording electronic displays, including intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.

The position is based in the Neuro Trauma ICU at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri. It is a part-time-hours weekend option position scheduled for 24 hours per week, with shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Weekend Option positions are eligible for full-time benefits.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Obtain BLS within 90 days.
• Obtain ACLS within one year of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.
• Time management skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.
