Registered Nurse - NTICU - Weekend Option - Day Shift - Part Time Hours
About The Position
The critical care nurse provides direct, individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical environment with ongoing monitoring. The nurse assesses patients’ conditions, performs diagnostic tests, begins treatments, and assists physicians with medical procedures. The nurse also monitors and adjusts specialized equipment and interprets and records electronic displays, including intracranial and central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings. This position is in the Neuro Trauma ICU at CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri. The unit emphasizes high-acuity patient care and a team-centered approach, with a culture of acceptance and support for patients and team members. It is a weekend-option, day-shift role scheduled for 24 hours per week, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Weekend-option positions are eligible for full-time benefits.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
- Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
- Obtain BLS within 90 days.
- Obtain ACLS within one year of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective leadership abilities.
- Valuable time-management skills.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Previous nursing experience.
