Registered Nurse RN - Cardiac Cath
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Department at Resurrection Medical Center. The role addresses psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment; communicates with physicians about patient conditions; and supports the readiness and operation of the Cardiovascular Laboratory. The nurse monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, continuously monitors and records patient condition in the lab, and participates in performance and continuous quality improvement activities. This is a per diem position with day shifts consisting of 8-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Active state Registered Nursing (RN) license.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certification; ACLS certification upon hire and maintained as current.
- One year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations.
- Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Communicate with physicians continuously and as needed regarding patient condition.
- Assist with maintenance of equipment and inventory.
- Assess procedure room and equipment functioning and readiness.
- Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure the Cardiovascular Laboratory team’s needs are met.
- Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
- Continuously monitor and record patient condition while in the Cardiovascular lab.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
