About The Position

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join its Dialysis Unit in Marion, Illinois. This PRN role provides specialized, patient-centered nursing care to people with acute and chronic kidney disease who receive renal replacement therapies. The nurse supports safe and effective treatments, monitors patient outcomes, provides education, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members in a hospital environment.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory values, and patient responses to therapy.
• Operate and manage hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) equipment.
• Administer and monitor dialysis-related medications and treatments.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to treatment complications and medical emergencies.
• Educate patients and families about dialysis treatments, medications, nutrition, and lifestyle management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care.
