About The Position
The Ambulatory Pulmonary Clinic at FFT is seeking a Level 3 Registered Nurse for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position. The role is based at 395 West St, Canandaigua, New York, and works daytime hours Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. The nurse provides proficient care to complex patients and collaborates with pulmonary physicians and respiratory therapists in caring for patients with asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interstitial lung diseases. The role includes patient rooming, immunizations, oxygen qualifications, and patient teaching. The nurse may take on an expanded charge nurse role, oversee orientation for new staff, and serve as care coordinator for a group of patients by monitoring and evaluating care against unit standards. The nurse also participates actively in unit and service activities and contributes to their outcomes. Responsibilities
- Provide proficient patient care, including care for complex patients.
- Collaborate with pulmonary physicians and respiratory therapists to care for patients with asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interstitial lung diseases.
- Room patients.
- Administer immunizations.
- Conduct oxygen qualifications.
- Teach patients.
- Assume an expanded charge nurse role as needed.
- Assume unit responsibility for orienting new staff.
- May coordinate care for a group of patients, monitoring and evaluating care against unit standards.
- Participate in unit and service activities and contribute to their outcomes.
