About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Maryview Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. The role includes assessing patient status, determining the priority of patient problems and needs, implementing clinical nursing interventions, and developing and performing patient care plans to improve outcomes. The nurse helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and cares for a broad spectrum of patients, from short-stay patients to trauma cases, as part of an interprofessional team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited associate degree or bachelor’s degree program in nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• One year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS or ACLS and PALS are preferred at hire; required from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS and PALS must be obtained within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience.
• EPIC Electronic Health Record training.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications at hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to achieve planned and expected outcomes.
• Serve as the point of contact for patients’ care coordination across hospital departments.
• Provide care to a broad spectrum of patients, ranging from short-stay to trauma.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
