About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse on the 8S Orthopedic Unit, working night shifts. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, care coordination, patient and family education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The nurse will maintain up-to-date knowledge of nursing standards, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing, required.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois, required.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association, required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
- Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing.
- Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
- Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.
