About The Position

Wellpath is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join the clinical team at Lake County Jail. The RN provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s). The role includes patient education and activities within the nurse’s competencies and education, and requires strong communication and critical-thinking skills to support optimal patient outcomes. The scheduled hours are 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
Be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Reside in the United States.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs in consultation with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as needed.
Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.
Count controlled substances and carry out clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting as required by policy.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
Communicate information to nursing staff, physicians, health care unit supervisory personnel, or other staff as necessary.
Provide patient education and activities in accordance with competencies and education.
