About The Position

TriHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 9AB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital. This specialized 60-bed Level III NICU provides high-acuity, family-centered care for high-risk neonates, including premature infants and medically complex newborns. Care may involve cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator support. Nurses work with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation specialists, and other interdisciplinary clinicians in an on-site NICU environment. The role applies the nursing process to provide direct and indirect holistic care to patients and families, collaborating with physicians and other health care team members. Nurses assess patients and families, plan and evaluate care, provide developmentally appropriate interventions, support and educate families, and may delegate care within the scope of nursing practice. New staff complete competency-based orientation with an online didactic component; orientation lasts 8 to 12 weeks depending on prior experience. NICU experience is preferred, and new graduates are also welcome. Nurses must complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and S.T.A.B.L.E. program by the end of their first year.
