About The Position

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Urgent Care team at its Bloomington clinic. This position is approved for 80 hours every two weeks (1.0 FTE), working 10-hour days and every other weekend. Shifts fall between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on weekends. The RN plans, organizes, coordinates, and provides professional nursing care to patients in an ambulatory care setting, following established standards and protocols and addressing the needs of the ages served by the clinic. As a member of the care team, the RN supports quality, patient- and family-centered care by performing high-level functions that meet the needs of patients, families, and the healthcare team. The nurse educates patients and the public about medical conditions, maintains complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation, and seeks opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

Requirements

RN license in the state of practice; some positions may require additional state RN licenses.

Nice To Haves

One year of previous healthcare experience in an Urgent Care setting.
Two years of previous healthcare experience in an ambulatory setting.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
Implement nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
Evaluate care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Deliver care, as delegated by a physician or authorized practitioner, to the assigned patient population or an individual patient.
Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
Continuously improve work processes and the work environment, and enhance the overall experience to serve customers and meet business goals.
Educate patients and the public about medical conditions.
Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation for each patient.
