About The Position
The Registered Nurse at Glenmary Freestanding Emergency Department provides nursing care to assigned patients of all ages, from infancy through geriatric. The nurse implements the nursing process in accordance with Kentucky nursing laws and organizational policies and procedures, promotes positive patient outcomes, and contributes to quality patient care and a healthy professional practice environment. The role uses critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and sound nursing judgment guided by national professional nursing standards. The Registered Nurse collaborates with the interprofessional team, contributes to unit-based and hospital shared governance councils, and participates in continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license.
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- BCLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Responsibilities
- Assess and reassess patients.
- Develop plans of care using appropriate evidence-based standards of care.
- Provide care consistent with policies, procedures, current evidence-based professional standards of practice, and Baptist Health Louisville’s nursing mission, vision, values, and model of care.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Apply critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils and ongoing professional development.
