About The Position

The ED Tech assists nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergency duties in the care of Emergency Department patients. The role also performs Unit Secretary duties, combining clinical and clerical responsibilities. All functions must remain within the scope of the training and instruction received and are performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Recent experience in a health care setting providing patient care.
• BCLS certification within the first 90 days.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Emergency Room work experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs desk duties in a clerical role with a high level of accuracy.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Assists nursing staff with triage.
