About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with MedSurg and postpartum experience to provide care primarily to MedSurg patients, with the possibility of caring for postpartum patients. The role is in a small rural Critical Access Hospital in California and involves working collaboratively within a small healthcare team. The nurse may occasionally take on charge responsibilities as needed. The shift is 1745–0600, and scrubs of any color are acceptable.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; a Kansas or multistate license is required at the time of submission.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Fetal Heart Certification, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting.
• Experience in MedSurg and postpartum care.

Nice To Haves

• Previous travel nursing experience.
• Flu vaccination is strongly preferred; exemptions are accepted, but mask-wearing may be required during flu season.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within a small healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Assess and monitor MedSurg patients and ensure adherence to established care plans.
• Provide care to postpartum patients at a 1:1 patient ratio.
• Manage MedSurg patients at an average 1:3 patient ratio.
• Use CPSI/Perigen charting systems.
• Occasionally take on charge responsibilities as needed.
