Registered Nurse- Med Surg 6 West
About The Position
Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 26-bed Med Surg 6 West unit at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana. The unit has all private rooms, including six negative-pressure isolation rooms. Nursing staff provide high-quality, individualized care to patients with a variety of chronic and acute medical/surgical conditions and gynecology overflow patients. Patients are at least 12 years old, with an average age of 63. Approximately 75% of patients are surgical and 25% are general medical. The Registered Nurse implements, directs, communicates, and documents the nursing process; helps provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and associates; and practices according to established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, and Powers Health policies and procedures. The nurse supports Powers Health’s mission and philosophy by providing high-quality care and demonstrating dignity, compassionate care, community, quality, and stewardship. This is a bonus-eligible, 12-hour day-shift position, working 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Powers Health offers a competitive wage and benefits package, along with tools, resources, and mentoring opportunities to support career advancement.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
- Obtain and maintain current certification as required in specialty areas.
- Obtain and maintain current CPR certification.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
