About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning the care of the patient, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The RN will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care and initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information. They will also maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. This role is within the Cardiac Tele PCU department, a 24-bed post-interventional unit mixed with medical telemetry, providing comprehensive post-interventional cardiac care. The unit specializes in the care of cardiovascular patients including Heart Failure, AMI, and Arrhythmia patients, as well as pre and post-interventional patients (Cath, Ablations, & Pacemakers).

Requirements

Diploma Nurse required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
PCU, Step-down Intermediate, Cardiac Tele highly preferred
